Unity in Health has now successfully launched its sharing skills programme for mental health care staff working in KOSHISH’s care homes for people experiencing mental health problems.
To start with, clinical staff from both female and male inpatient services were offered a two-days training module on First Aid skills, covering a wide range of life-saving procedures, as well as best responses to different emergency scenarios common in inpatient health care settings.
This was the first of a series of courses to be offered to KOSHISH’s staff, Unity in Health’s partner in Nepal, over the coming two and half years. Future topics to be covered include practical nursing and occupational therapy skills, treatment and therapeutic care approaches to mental health problems, risk assessment skills, safeguarding, etc.
We thank all participants for their enthusiasm and commitment to learning, and look forward to further training courses and workshops!
