Angelo trained as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and Registered Nurse at The British Columbia Institute of Technology and the University of British Columbia. His career in mental health has been in community mental health services in Vancouver where he worked with adult and older adult populations. He has vast experience in case management, crisis intervention, assessments, dementia care and group facilitation. He worked as the Coordinator of Violence Prevention education and training to community mental health agencies. The last few years he has worked as the Clinical Nurse Educator in a 104 bed Tertiary Mental Health facility focusing on specialized mental health care training for staff. He has also volunteered with a variety of organisations teaching mental health in Bangladesh and Tanzania.
In addition to his work as a Clinical Educator and Nurse Specialist with Unity in Health, Angelo works with Canadian Red Cross International as a Psychosocial Delegate providing psychosocial support internationally following major disasters.
