Marjorie studied Psychology at the University of Durham before training as an Occupational Therapist. She subsequently studied for her M.A in Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care at the Nuffield Institute for Health, University of Leeds.
Marjorie has over 30 years experience in mental health practice as a clinician, educator and manager. Her most recent project has been the development and leadership of the first degree course in Occupational Therapy in Sri Lanka. This project was made possible by the partnership between the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka and Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO). She is currently still supporting this course as an Honorary Consultant OT to the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.
She has worked for 15 years as a tutor with the Open University in the Faculty of Health and Social Care and is currently a tutor on the Mary Seacole Programme, a leadership development programme commissioned by the NHS Leadership Academy in association with the Open University and Hay Group.
